Derrick City
True to its name, Derrick City was born during the feverish heights of the 1870s oil rush, when the surrounding hills were literally covered in wooden oil derricks. Located just north of Bradford near the New York state line, the community preserves its roadside history. It is a key waypoint for travelers heading toward Rock City Park or the northern reaches of the Tuna Valley trail system, offering a glimpse into the region’s "black gold" heritage.
