Warren

Founded in 1795 as the county seat, Warren flourished during the 19th-century oil and timber booms. The wealth from these industries is still visible in the town's National Historic District, featuring 28 blocks of Victorian architecture. Known today as the "Gateway to the Allegheny National Forest," it is a premier hub for kayaking the Allegheny River—voted 2024 PA River of the Year—and offers proximity to major trailheads like Jakes Rocks. The town also hosts the historic Struthers Library Theatre, one of the oldest continuously operating theatres in the US.
