Sheffield
Known as the "Heart of the Allegheny National Forest," Sheffield was once a global titan of industry, housing the world's largest sole-leather tanneries and massive lumber mills. While the heavy industry has passed, its legacy lives on in the town's grand homes and the annual Fireman's Festival. Today, Sheffield is the premier staging ground for forest adventure, serving as a primary hub for the regional snowmobile and ATV trail networks and providing the closest services to the Hearts Content Scenic Area.
