Portland Mills
Portland Mills serves as the primary eastern gateway to the National Wild and Scenic Clarion River. Historically, it was the site of a grand suspension bridge and a large-scale lumbering operation that utilized the river to transport timber. Today, it is a critical access point for the Clarion River Water Trail, offering a well-maintained boat launch and serves as a popular starting point for multi-day paddling trips that wind through the remote "Upper Clarion" section toward Cook Forest.
