Wolf Run Shoals

Wolf Run Shoals is a shallow, rocky stretch of the Allegheny Reservoir located near the Wolf Run Marina. This area is a critical feature for both navigation and ecology; its underwater rocky shelves and gravel bars provide exceptional habitat for spawning fish and attract large numbers of baitfish. For anglers, the shoals are a legendary hotspot for targeting walleye and smallmouth bass, especially during the spring and fall. Boaters are cautioned to navigate carefully through this area, as the shifting water levels can expose the ancient riverbed structures that give the shoals their name.
