Historically a township of timber and rail, Wetmore was settled in the mid-19th century. The Wetmore Historical Society preserves the area's pioneer heritage and records of the natural disasters that shaped this rural community. Today, it remains a quiet residential gateway between the Allegheny National Forest and Kane.
