Twin Lakes Recreation Area

Twin Lakes Recreation Area is a testament to the craftsmanship of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), who built the park’s facilities during the 1930s. Centered around two spring-fed lakes, the area offers a classic "summer camp" feel with a swimming beach, shaded campsites, and the popular Twin Lakes Hiking Trail. Historically, the site was home to a major wood-distillation chemical plant, but today it is a serene forest retreat known for its cool mountain waters and as a family-friendly destination for trout fishing and lakeside relaxation.
