Tionesta Fire Tower
Historic 1934 lookout standing over the Tionesta valley.
The Tionesta Fire Tower is a standing monument to the early days of forest fire detection and the craftsmanship of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). Constructed in 1934, this 100-foot Aermotor tower provided a 360-degree view of the Tionesta Creek valley, allowing lookouts to spot smoke for miles. While the tower is no longer open for climbing, it remains a landmark destination for forest history enthusiasts along the historic Route 66 corridor.
