North Country National Scenic Trail
The longest National Scenic Trail in America, crossing the ANF.
The North Country National Scenic Trail (NCT) is the longest National Scenic Trail in America, stretching 4,800 miles from North Dakota to Vermont. The approximately 100-mile section that traverses the Allegheny National Forest is widely considered one of the trail's most beautiful segments. It guides hikers across the "Big Level" plateau, through old-growth forests, and along the dramatic ridges of the Allegheny Reservoir, serving as the backbone of the region’s non-motorized trail network.
