Morrison Trail Loop
A 10-mile "figure-eight" hike through oak and pine forests.
The Morrison Trail Loop is a premier 10-mile "figure-eight" hiking system that takes visitors through a diverse cross-section of the Allegheny National Forest’s ecology. The trail winds through high-plateau stands of oak and pine, across massive quartz conglomerate boulders, and down into deep, shaded stream valleys. It is a favored route for backpackers and long-distance hikers who enjoy the challenge of its varying terrain and the chance to see a wide array of wildlife, from wild turkeys to black bears, in a landscape that feels significantly more remote than its accessibility suggests.
