The Longhouse Scenic Byway is a 29-mile National Scenic Byway that loops through the most spectacular landscapes of the Allegheny National Forest. The drive follows the rugged shoreline of the Allegheny Reservoir and climbs through plateaus of ancient hardwoods. Along its route, it provides access to major recreation landmarks like Jakes Rocks, Rimrock Overlook, and numerous boat launches. It is widely considered one of the premier scenic drives in the Northeastern United States, particularly during the vibrant peak of the autumn foliage season.
