Cornplanter State Forest
A 1,500-acre forest block near the Seneca lands.
Cornplanter State Forest is a 1,500-acre block of protected land named in honor of the great Seneca war chief and diplomat, Cornplanter. Located near the historic Seneca lands of the Allegheny Reservoir, the forest is managed for both timber production and recreation. It features several miles of multi-use trails that are popular for hiking and cross-country skiing. The area serves as an important ecological buffer and a tribute to the indigenous heritage of the region, providing a quieter alternative to the larger National Forest tracts nearby.
