Cook Forest
Old-growth forest and river recreation corridor.
Established in 1928, it was Pennsylvania's first state park created specifically to protect a natural area. It contains the "Forest Cathedral," a National Natural Landmark featuring ancient white pine and hemlock trees documented as over 470 years old. The park is a world-class destination for river recreation on the Clarion River and offers over 27 miles of hiking trails. The nearby Ridge Camp and historic Cooksburg village provide a classic "Northwoods" vacation experience.
