Beaver Iron Furnace
A remarkably preserved 1848 cold-blast furnace.
Located near Tionesta, the Beaver Furnace is one of the best-preserved relics of the region's brief iron-making era. Built from massive hand-cut sandstone blocks, it once produced ten tons of iron per week using local ore and charcoal. Today, it stands as a silent monument in a peaceful forest clearing, offering a glimpse into the industrial diversity of the pre-civil war Allegheny plateau.
